Yes, I can get the IP using ping command. And I know they have a firewall out there. But how can I dig a hole on it?

BTW, we don’t need to identify ourselves before accessing internet. But you do need to provide your identification when you ask the operator company to setup a cabel for you.

First it does DNS filtering; If the domain you are trying to access is on a blacklist you don’t get the ip. I would not consider ggp4.wordpress.com as a hazardous website for their regi’me.

If you get the ip then you need to connect, if the ip they resolved is on another black list then they’ll send you a RST packet to terminate the connection. This is probably what is blocking you since this kind of services usually share an IP for thousands of domains, you only need one of them to be blocked for the rest to be added to the bucket.

Third the do URL analysis looking for malicious content on requests, if it locates any forbidden word they reward you with another RST.

Finally the do some content analysis for each page you load. There is some kind of obscure scanner which again looks for forbidden terms.

The good news is that it doesn’t do anything about VPN connections and most likely either about ssh. If they would not allow encrypted traffic it would be disastrous for their economy,

Could you open a terminal and ping ggp4.wordpress.com and tell us if it resolves the ip? (if you can see an ip similar to 72.233.2.56 then you should)

Let’s make it simple, I do can open the home page, http://wordpress.com/, I can open any the sub-links in the page, I can even log-in my account.
But when it came to http://ggp4.wordpress.com/ or any other specific single blog page, there is no response for a long time. And get a error page like this:

And I think it something about the DNS, because I can open any url in the form ****.wordpress.com and I can open those in form http://www.wordpress.com/****/****

However, everything goes well if I use the remote computer in Sweden.
I use Windows Remote Control application, mstsc to control the remote desktop in Sweden. I don’t have SSH access to any server in Sweden.

And sorry I’m not good at internet, it maybe stupid for me to say , I don’t get why I need a SSH access to servers in Sweden. I can use this computer to open our blog. What I concerned is if I lost the computer due to the end of this project, I can’t use our blog anymore. That’s what I say, “This is not a forever plan using the remote computer”.

I would love to go to China just to see what exactly they are doing on their networks.

Is it just DNS filtering or do they also block ips? (that would suck for web hosting companies)…

Do you have ssh access to any server in Stockholm?, port-forwarding or even the old -D option should do. Please let me know how you do.
